Media & STEM Club
Media & STEM Club
The Media & STEM Club offers an exciting platform for students to delve into the realms of coding and tinkering. Using platforms like Scratch, students will be able to creatively program and design their own games, developing computational thinking skills through interactive storytelling and game development. They will also create and design projects using Micro:bit, a small programmable computer, and MakeCode, a user-friendly coding platform. Students will gain essential digital literacy skills through Computer and Online Essentials, learning about digital citizenship, online safety, and effective use of technology tools. Additionally, they will master Application Essentials, developing proficiency in productivity software and digital communication tools. Alongside coding, tinkering activities abound, with makerspace projects like constructing squishy circuits and making scribble bots. Through coding challenges and tinkering projects, students are constantly pushed to think critically, problem-solve and innovate. They learn to analyse complex problems, break them down into manageable components, and devise creative solutions. This dynamic blend of technology and creativity fosters a vibrant learning environment, where members unleash their potential and embrace the endless possibilities of media and STEM exploration.
